NOBI / SMART LAMP
Prodotto was approached by Nobi to develop the next generation of its AI powered smart care lamp following rapid international growth and increasing technical limitations within the existing product architecture. A key challenge was identifying the thermal constraints of the existing product and redefining the internal architecture around a fundamentally different passive cooling strategy, enabling improved reliability, scalability and future product development.
Research
Nobi approached Prodotto four years ago to develop the next generation of its AI driven smart care lamp. Through a SWOT analysis, innovation study, thermal research and hands on testing, Prodotto identified key thermal constraints within the existing architecture. Research demonstrated that the selected materials, internal volumes and internal product structure required a fundamentally different approach to dissipating the heat generated by processors, cameras and LED systems.
Innovation Strategy
As Nobi’s product ecosystem evolved, the need emerged for a more scalable and unified technical foundation capable of supporting future product variants, certifications and continued innovation ambitions. Prodotto translated these insights into a scalable product architecture centred around passive heat dissipation. By redefining the core structure as an engineered heat dissipating platform, we established a future proof strategy focused on modularity, scalability and long term product consistency.
Engineering
In the first development phase, Prodotto investigated whether the core housing could function as a large integrated heatsink onto which the LED PCB and processing hardware could be mounted. Functional prototypes, airflow studies and heat flow simulations validated this approach. Based on these findings, Prodotto engineered an entirely new suspended and ceiling mounted smart lamp platform, combining thermal performance, manufacturability and architectural integration into a single coherent product system.
Manufacturing
Prodotto developed the project from concept to production ready solution through a phased engineering approach. Every component was technically detailed and optimized for manufacturing, assembly and certification. The process included technical drawings, tolerance studies, diamond drawings for approvals, production support, rendering and assembly guidance. Close collaboration with manufacturing partners ensured the product architecture could be industrialized efficiently while maintaining the premium quality expected from Nobi.
Result
The new product architecture introduced a more robust thermal strategy while creating a scalable foundation for future growth. Beyond delivering a completely redesigned smart care lamp, the platform enabled the rapid development of additional variants sharing the same technical backbone. This accelerated future innovation cycles, reduced engineering complexity and strengthened Nobi’s position as a rapidly growing international player in AI powered healthcare technology.
